Natchez Art Association

Natchez Art Association - Since 1952

We strive to bring a greater visual arts presence to Natchez and the surrounding region through interactive art opportunities.

The Natchez Art Association currently produces an annual High School Art Exhibit which allows the teen artists in our region the opportunity to participate in an adult style exhibit.  High School Students submit an application and a single artwork to a jury who in turn reviews the application and and awards 1st, 2nd, 3rd, place awards in addition to honorable mention awards.  Most often these awards include monetary awards given to the student from generous donations received from our local business'.  We hope that in the future we will have the opportunity to provide a scholarship to the winning student which will go towards the cost of their college education.  This is an annual exhibit which is on display at the Natchez Visitors Center each year during spring pilgrimage.

Our long term goals include:

Opening the Natchez Museum of Art which will include artwork featuring southern artists
A Visual Arts Center focusing on art history education and visual art education for people of all ages
A Museum Gift Shop featuring the artwork of local and regional artists
Working artist studios where you can occasionally see artists working
We also hope to develop Art Workshop Tours encouraging professional artists to spend a relaxing vacation in Natchez and visit locations which are visually appealing to the painter for onsite painting opportunities.
